TN Polls: Vasan promises 10 percent reservation for Muslims

THANJAVUR: Assuring to impress upon the Centre to implement 10 per cent reservation for Muslims, TMC president G K Vasan said that the recommendations of Rajinder Sachar committee and Ranganath Mishra commission for the welfare of the minority communities would be implemented if the DMDK-PWA-TMC alliance is voted to power.

Addressing campaign meetings at Ayyampettai, Chakkarapalli, Vazhuthur, Pandaravadai and Rajagiri in Papanasam on Tuesday, the TMC leader promised that the combine would impress upon the Union government to implement 10 per cent reservation for Muslims. He also said that the combine would act as a bridge between the minority and majority communities in the State.

Charging the Dravidian majors with the increase in  corruption cases, Vasan alleged that Tamil Nadu lagged behind in many sectors compared to other states.

“There is a need to end the rules of the Dravidian majors and usher in a coalition government in the State,  he said, adding that the DMDK-PWA-TMC combine would provide a development-oriented, corruption-free government, which would implement total prohibition.
