“Decision based on majority opinion”

Blaming the “difficult circumstances” and “unbridled money distribution to voters” for his party’s poor performance in the Assembly polls, TMC president G.K. Vasan, on Saturday, said he would base his decision on the future course of action on the majority opinion in the party.

Speaking to The Hindu after completing a week of internal party consultations, Mr. Vasan said TMC office-bearers provided a “frank and constructive” opinion on how to move forward.

Asked if he would continue in the third front, which consists of the PWF and the DMDK, he said a decision on what to do in the upcoming by-polls and civic polls would be based on what the majority of the party members feel.
